Due to continued expansion and restructuring, we are looking for a Parts Advisor to join our team in Corby, Northamptonshire.

Job Overview

This role involves identifying, sourcing and supplying the correct parts for construction equipment while maintaining accurate inventory records and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

  • Assist customers and technicians, in identifying and ordering the correct parts for construction equipment.
  • Provide parts quotations and pricing information.
  • Process parts sales transactions, invoices, and returns.
  • Promote parts sales and identify opportunities to upsell related items.

Parts Identification

  • Interpret parts catalogues, technical diagrams, and equipment serial numbers to identify correct components.
  • Use dealership software and manufacturer systems to locate parts.
  • Provide technical parts support for machines such as excavators, loaders, dumpers, and other equipment.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and stock records.
  • Receive, inspect, and correctly store incoming parts shipments.
  • Conduct stock checks and assist with inventory counts.
  • Ensure fast-moving parts are stocked and obsolete parts are identified and returned where possible.

Workshop & Service Support

  • Supply parts quickly and accurately to service technicians.
  • Prepare parts for scheduled repairs and maintenance jobs.
  • Coordinate with the service department to ensure machine downtime is minimised.

Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of parts orders, backorders, and returns.
  • Follow dealership procedures for warranty parts and claims.
  • Ensure parts department work areas are organised and safe.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience in a parts advisor, parts interpreter, or parts sales role.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment, heavy machinery, or automotive parts.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret parts catalogues and technical diagrams.
  • Good computer skills and experience using parts management systems.

Desirable

  • Experience with construction equipment brands
  • Forklift license.
  • Knowledge of EPC (Electronic Parts Catalogue) systems.

Remuneration Package

  • £34,000 – £35,500 per annum + bonus scheme
