Develon Launches New Upgraded DX35Z-7 Mini Excavator

Develon has launched an upgraded version of the DX35Z-7, bringing more power, improved visibility and practical refinements to its 4 tonne mini excavator.

Designed for construction, demolition, landscaping and utility work, the DX35Z-7 combines a zero-tail-swing layout with a compact footprint. That makes it particularly well suited to sites where space is limited but performance, stability and operator comfort still matter.

More power for demanding applications

At the heart of the upgraded DX35Z-7 is Develon’s DW01 Stage V compliant diesel engine. Producing 18.4 kW (25 HP), it replaces the previous D17 engine and provides higher power and torque for heavier-duty applications.

The hydraulic system delivers an auxiliary flow of 74 l/min, supporting productive work with a wide range of attachments. A larger 1/2-inch arm pipe also improves responsiveness, increasing arm-in speed by 3% and arm-out speed by 15%.

An additional 100 kg counterweight helps maintain machine balance and stability while working, giving operators a confident platform across varied site conditions.

Zero tail swing with improved visibility

The DX35Z-7’s zero-tail-swing design allows the upper structure to rotate within a compact working envelope, helping operators work more comfortably near walls, traffic routes and other obstacles.

Develon has moved the boom swing point 75 mm to the right and revised the boom swing angle to 60 degrees in both directions. Together with a repositioned radio and a wider wiper sweep – increased from 60 to 89 degrees – these changes give the operator a clearer view from the front of the cab.

Boom swing control has also moved from the pedal to a thumbwheel on the joystick, keeping an important function close at hand.

A more comfortable working environment

Cab access is easier thanks to a wider entrance, increased from 363 mm to 404 mm, and a greater stand tilting angle. Inside, the upgraded cooling arrangement improves engine heat dissipation and helps reduce heat reaching the seat.

Further refinements include a new orange seat belt, reduced exhaust noise through a double-insulator system and additional work lights outside the cab. More tie-down points also make the excavator easier to secure for transport between sites.

Simpler servicing and machine management

Maintenance access has been improved around the hydraulic oil filling point, which now includes a retractable cover. A new battery jump-start feature supports easier battery maintenance, while the two-stage air cleaner uses a simplified clip system for faster filter changes.

A new monitoring and alarm function notifies the operator when filters need attention. The latest Develon Fleet Management system also collects data from machine sensors, giving owners and fleet managers useful telematics information.
